alot going on but not alot going on

Duncan Donuts,farmers markets,Garage sales and roadside finds oh my!!!!

And off we go running again..... geez you would think I was on vacation with no time to spare ,rather than just moved here ...I really need to slow myself down.
We jumped out of bed not expecting to be on the run so fast but with no car of my own yet I have to go with the flow right?
First stop was Duncan donuts drive thru ... Yum I am so happy with a simple jelly donut.... Thank goodness for my Samsung infuse 4 g I can document every step of my day ! it seems to always be in my hand:)

Next stop was the Eau Gallie Farmers Market at  1453 Highland Avenue Melbourne, Florida. It happens every sat 8am to 2pm. It was very small but that worked for me ! I am still overwhelmed by big stores and selections and the prices are so cheap compared to St Thomas I just want to buy everything . I have to continuously remind my self that I am here for good now and this stuff will always be available to me. Brevard Happenings is a great website I found that has a daily calender with activities happening in Brevard county! Check it out!

We were once again off and running this time beachside to check out a few yard sales....I got some warm comfy clothes and a few odds and ends ,then we found a curbside pile of well stuff...... I couldn't resist and grabbed a bulletin board and fought the urge to grab anything else! Another fun filled day in Sunny Florida!

Cold,cat appearences, and a leiserly lunch ...just me and my dog....

We woke up to a 53 degree morning! That was a shock to our Virgin Island systems! Stuey would not get out of bed and I had to put a t-shirt on him to get him out of bed!

I decided he had to get use to his surroundings and took him for a walk to downtown melbourne. It was a nice to have sidewalks to walk him on. I could tell he was getting a little depressed about not going to work and being around different people. We did a little window shopping then stopped in the Molly Mutt ,a thrift store for the human society .....Stuey was so happy he was able to go in the store and visit with the volunteers there. He even got a treat and yes he did his usually belly rub on the carpet!! We Then stopped for lunch at the Sun Shoppe Cafe......Talk about happy ,I got a chicken salad wrap and Stuey had a cup of water! We leisurely sat outside in the sun. A very pleasant afternoon was had by all ......

Beachside, Sand on the Beach, Moonrise, Moonshine, Supermarkets and fire, oh my

Thursday night...who knew, it could be such a exciting night. I spent the evening with good friends, good drinks and food
and of course the moon.



                                                    

. Sand on the beach is a great place to do all of those things. I love the beach, I love the smell of the ocean, the sound of the waves, the smell of the seaweed that has washed ashore. I don't necessarily like going in the ocean more than say to my knees,but I could sit on the beach for hours and just enjoy the view.
  Shortly after the moon had risen..... we were off and running to the Oasis, for a good memory or two ........

After the shots we decieded we should be responsible adults.....huh...... we were off once again to\
   Melbourne beach supermarket, my market of choice when I lived here before, and not just cause I could ride
my bike here .............I was totally amazed about the pricing and very happy to see I could get everything I needed
in one stop by the beach!

It was then time to go home and make kabobs on our kapan and sit by the fire in the backyard with a glass of wine. Oh but first one more stop at Davids Steak and Seafood in Melbourne beach. I couldn't resist going in and saying hello to a few more familar faces.... very nice to know that I was remembered here from my bartending days..... So far this coming home thing is ok!

                                                            
  

Arrival night....settling in time

The sky was getting dark and the clouds even darker as we rolled into Melbourne.

 The first thing I had to do, even though I was very anxious to find J's house,was a quick stop at Pet Smart.

 I loaded the cat in the carrier in a cart, grabbed Stuey and did a marathon run around the store. Stuey was very overwhelmed and happy to see other dogs and people. A fast $80.00 later and a treat for Stu we were off to find our new house!

After unpacking the car and getting the animals situated Roommate no. 1 arrived as we spent time getting acquainted
Stuey and his new friend Jake had a long puppy play in the fenced in back yard. I think Stuey was in heaven.
A short time later my friend and next roommate arrived home with some wine and the reminiscing  began.

It is very nice to be home in Melbourne beach , I am so lucky to have such good friends to help me out like this and I am very excited to see what is to come in the future!

The move part #2

Things, they are a changin...... Atleast for me!

So you may of noticed I have been slacking here for a while. Well there is a reason, I have moved back to Florida this past week. After weeks of packing and planning we are finally here. As you can guess it was a slow , long, stressful process and now I am here to recycle my life into something different. What, I do not know!
 What I do know is that Paradise Snapshots is gonna slowly get back up and running with different scenic views! Get ready for some some Florida paradise snapshots taken with ..... what else....... my Samsung Infuse camera phone! I am excited how about you ?

I was just robbed.........by iguanas !

I decided to have lunch by the pool today. It started out really nice , I ordered a burger and went and sat by the beach for a few minutes .After about 20 peaceful minutes by the sea I went picked up my food. I wanted to be alone and away from people so I went and sat on a bench all alone. Started to eat , all along watching the iguanas across the pond eyeing me.
It wasn't very long when one jumped in and swam across. No problem I thought he is just gonna watch me , wait for me to

drop something......

Next thing I knew he started charging me ,climbed up the bench took my food , having a potato chip party

with all his friends!!!

I had to beat them off with a stick to get that aluminum foil away from them ! Somebody really should do something about
those aggressive iguanas !!!!! I thought they were gonna climb in my purse and take all my money next lol !!!

King of the wing contest!

I know this is a little late! but here is some shots of the king of the wing contest held at smith bay park!

Even the Governor made it out!  And even thought parking was out of control and it was a long walk in Everyone seemed to be having a good time. Nothing like a big party on the beach!

                                                                                                   

A monday afternoon adventure

Monday was a beautiful day. The sky was filled with white puffy clouds and the water was like glass! I decided to take a drive around the neighborhood with Stuey to see if we could find some nice different views to take photos from.  

The views were fantastic ! The only problem with calm still weather is just that , still weather.

The life of a feral cat.......

      The Life of a feral cat can be a tough one , unless they are lucky enough to be part of a colony of cats that are near a Cat Cafe Program. Cat Cafe is a program associated with the St. Thomas Humane society. From donations the cats are feed, spayed and neutered and giving a health check. This is done in attempts to slow down the cat population. Some of these 

cats are pets that have been left behind, some are just plain wild cats and some are wild cats that have learned that a human hand is not so bad.  

 I feed the cats where I work whenever I can and step outside to visit them several times a day. It breaks my heart knowing that a few of them are so friendly and just need someone to love them. So next time you see a humane society box or a cat cafe box drop a some change in the box cause every little bit helps!!

Tropical storm Maria may of passed the  Virgin Islands however we are still feeling the effects ……….

   A walk on Lindquist beach ….. this beach is beautiful even while it is storming….. I believe it is my favorite beach on the whole island. And on a rainy day I found myself all alone with the exception of one police officer hiding in the car from the weather.
